Kasargod: Youth who was injured when fleeing from excise squad dies

Kasargod, Feb 14: Naveen (30) from Bedradka here, who had suffered serious injuries after the bike he was riding banged against the compound wall of the primary health centre at Chevaru on February 9, passed away at a hospital at Mangaluru in the morning on Friday, February 14, without responding to treatment.

After the excise squad got information that Naveen was transporting illicit liquor, they had spotted him at Permude and asked him to stop. But Naveen had sped away and the excise squad chased him. He lost control over his bike and got injured at Chevaru. He had been admitted into a hospital at Mangaluru with serious injuries.

The excise officials had found a bag on the bike containing liquor bottles.

    So sad.Bad too was doing a illegal work of transporting alcohol.Biggest failure was try to flee when Police chased him.If only he would surrendered?May his soul rest in peace.Heartfelt sympathy to his family.
