Mangaluru Feb 8: Karnataka Cashew Manufacturers Association (KCMA) president P Subraya Pai inaugurated the two day food festival ‘Relish-2020’ here on Saturday, February 8 at Milagres Church Grounds.
The festival was organised by Milagres College in collaboration KCMA.
Federation of Indian Export Organisation former chairman Walter D’Souza was felicitated.
Hotel Ocean Pearl executive chef J Mandal, Milagres College correspondent Fr Joseph Lobo, convenor Denzil Celestine D’Costa, PTA president Lavina Lobo, student coordinator Rufus Walder and others were present.
Milagres College principal Fr Micheal L Santhumayor welcomed the gathering. Eva Manorama proposed vote of thanks and Vineetha compered the event.
On February 8, the food festival went on till 8 pm and on February 9 it will begin at 7 am and end at noon.
This event is organised to promote Indian and Western cuisines and to display the culinary skills of students. Delicacies such as bakery, chaats, biriyani, mocktails etc. will be presented for the food connoisseurs to savour and appreciate the varieties of flavours.
The attraction of this event was a cooking competition which was open to the public irrespective of any age limit. The participants had to prepare a special dish using cashew as one of the ingredients at home and get it to the venue on February 8 at 1 pm to present and to explain it to the judges. The winners will be awarded first, second and third prizes consisting of cash, certificate and trophy and five consolation prizes.
