Dubai, Oct 17: Debutante Daijworld XI under the captaincy of Ramcy Fernandes won Champions Cricket League Trophy 2009. Limitless Events in association with Delma Office Equipments organized the tournament.
In all 10 teams from across UAE participated in the tournament that began on August 28 last. After marathon 23 matches throughout the tournament, final match was played between Daijiworld XI and Delma Tigers at Seven Seas ground, DIP, Dubai on Friday October 16. In the finals Daijiworld XI beat Delma Tigers by seven wickets.
Samith Fernandes, the man behind organising the event speaking to daijiworld.com after the event, said "As an organizer of this event we are really satisfied with what we have witnessed and achieved in the last eight weeks. The main intention of organizing such an event was to give an opportunity to people who have not participated in the tournament. CCLT09 not only achieved this, but also brought together many friends who had met for years and also built many friendships, he said.
“We from Limitless Events would like to also thank our sponsors, Alpha Tours Dubai, International Travel Services (ITS, Dubai) and Delma Office Equipments LLC. We would to also like to thank Springs Design Shop from Udupi, India for helping us in all our design work," he added.
"Limitless Events intends to organise CCLT on an annual basis and in the next year we would come aback in a much bigger way. We also intend to organize many more different tournament like 30 yards, super sixes and double wicket among others, one unique than the other, added Samith.
