Patna, Oct 11 (IANS) The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sunday said that the turmoil in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would end soon.
RSS spokesperson Ram Madhav said RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat told cadres, at the national executive in Bihar's Rajgir town, that he expected the BJP to "return to normal soon".
Madhav denied that Bhagwat had told the RSS members they were free to endorse any political party on the basis of its policy and programmes in the national interest.
"No such statement was made by the RSS chief," Madhav told IANS. The RSS' three-day national executive ended Sunday at Rajgir.
Earlier, a RSS source told IANS over phone from Rajghir: "The cadres were told that there was no compulsion to support the BJP."
Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Ravi Shankar Prasad said: "Yesterday (Saturday) I myself was present in the meeting and what Mohan Bhagwat said was that whatever little problems BJP is having will be resolved soon and the party will continue to become a major force of Indian politics with renewed vigour."
