Chamarajnagar: Wife arrested for brutal murder of second husband

Chamrajnagar, Jan 28: Due to the difference that arose in a financial deal a wife, along with her sister in law, kidnapped her second husband and tortured him, due to the result of which he died.

This incident is reported from the Mudigundam of Kollegal taluk of the district.

Rashmi, who was a software engineer in Benglaluru had divorced her first husband. She had married Mudigundam Subramanya of Kollegal, who was a bank manager, four years ago and was living stylishly with him.

A year ago, Rashmi deserted Subramanya and got associated with her first husband again. Rashmi asked Subramanya to repay lac of rupees which he took from her when she was with Subramanya.

When Subramanya refused to pay back Rashmi's money, she kidnapped him with the help of her brother Rakesh and his friends and tortured him for five days. Before leaving Subramanya back to his house at Mudigundam, the gang also assaulted him badly. Subramanya's finger nails were removed and he was attacked with iron rods.

Subramanya was initially admitted to a hospital at Kollegal, then shifted to Mysuru private hospital for advanced treatment. However, he succumbed to the injuries inflicted on him by his wife Rashmi, her brother and their friends. Subramany, in his dying statement has given the details of the torture meted out to him by Rashmi and her friends.

A case in this connection is registered in Kollegal police station. Police have arrested Rashmi and are on the lookout for others involved in the heinous crime.

Deceased Subramanya had the habit of betting in Cricket. He took Rs 50 lac from his wife Rashmi for the same reason. As he had lost the money in betting, he was hesitating to pay back the amount to Rashmi, when she demanded the same. So Rashmi and her brothers were pestering Subramanya for the money.
