Mangalore: Reckless Driving Kills Pedestrian

Mangalore, Sep 30: A pedestrian was killed after he was mowed down by a recklessly driven car near Lalbagh on Tuesday September 29.
 


The deceased is Deepesh (24), a resident of Kasargod, who was studying at a computer training institute in the city. He was admitted into a private hospital with fatal injuries.
 
Police said that the car, owned by an advocate in the city, hit three motorbikes after injuring the pedestrian. Barke police registered a case in this regard.

    In manglore, the policeman is busy writing chalans and hunting for students they don't care if buses trucks lorries and rouge cars violate traffic rules..the people are as good as the rulers..no law no order..

    You are right Patric. Most of the drivers in Mangalore have little or no driving sense. They are impatient and think roads in Mangalore belong to their father, they disregard the other drivers specially the reckless bus drivers who also bully others besides using abusive language with other road users. You cannot touch these guys because they are protected by their rich bus owners. Accidents occur but with the help of policemen the offending drivers get away easily. Brakes do not normally fail and excuse given mostly is brake fail. This lawyer will get away with this offence very easily. Court case will take years if at all there is one. Even here there is a possibility the two lawyers from opposite side join hands, with total disregard to young man"s lost life. There is no severe punishment for negligent driving in our country (like inthe Gulf and other European countries- Jai Hind we have too much of democracy and independence in our country.

    Today, Mangalore stinks with cars the size of each larger than the other one with little or no space left for the pedestrian. The Advocate will get away with the incident claiming "break failure". Police ever eager to oblige for a sum. Toyota Co. will never get to know how the breaks failed. One more innocent life has been sucked out. No tears for Deepesh.

    There is a need put some traffic sense in the peoples mind.  The media should take the responsibility.  I have seen in Mangalore any one anytime can change track without any signal.   Two wheelers and pedestrians are at most risk.

    deepesh is not 24 years of age. he is 18 years, his date of birth is 10.9.1991
