Karachi, Sep 28 (IANS) Pakistani cricketers will be showered with huge cash rewards if they go on to win the ICC Champions trophy in South Africa, a senior Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) official said Monday.
According to Wasim Bari, the PCB chief operating officer, the players will be flooded with rewards if they win their second International Cricket Council (ICC) event after having won the World Twenty20 earlier this year.
"Winning the Champions Trophy would be a huge achievement and the board will ensure that the players are duly rewarded," said Bari, a former Pakistan test wicketkeeper.
Pakistani players earned millions after winning the World Twenty20 title in England last June.
Pakistan are one of the only two leading teams along with England yet to win the Champions Trophy.
This time Pakistan are in a good position to aim for its maiden crown after having won its first two Pool A matches against West Indies and neighbours India.
