Bengaluru, Jan 10: The explosive information that members of terrorist outfit, 'Al Ummah' were planning to become active again in the state has come into the open. It is said that the organization leaders had planned to eliminate a few prominent Hindu leaders.
Three members of the organization, who had got shelter in different areas of the city, have been arrested by the Q branch from Tamil Nadu and officials of the intelligence department with the support of the central crime branch here.
At the same time, Delhi police special squad has arrested Moidin Khwaja, mastermind of the organization, who had escaped from the city to Delhi via Nepal, and two others. It is said that the members of the outfit, who draw inspiration from ISIS, were planning to undertake disruptive activities in Delhi, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh.
Mohammed Haneef Khan (29), Imran Khan (32), and Usman Ghani (24), who were staying in paying guest accommodations in Soladevanahalli, Vivek Nagar and H S R Layout, were arrested. Three pistols and large quantity of ammunition were confiscated from them. They are said to be members of a six-member group which had eliminated two leaders of Hindu Makkal Katchi, which is a rightist organization, in Tamil Nadu.
The names of the terrorists arrested from Delhi happen to be Moidin Khwaja (52), Abdul Samad (28), and Syed Ali Nawaz (32). Reportedly Khwaja had stayed in the past at Bengaluru. The members of this organization had conspired to kill Hindu leaders and engage in disruptive activities at various places.
When reaching the city, these operatives were empty-handed, but later they were provided with arms and ammunition. It is said that Khawaja had brought these things into the city from Tamil Nadu to enable the terrorists to engage in disturbances.
In the meanwhile, Jaffer Ali, who is wanted by Tamil Nadu and Delhi police for being a sympathizer of ISIS, was arrested by the Anti-Terrorist Squad of Gujarat. He is said to be a native of Cuddalore in Tamil Nadu.
