Mangalore, Sep 26: “The state government will form enforcement cells in all city corporations just as it is in Bruhath Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP)”, said Suresh Kumar, state law and parliamentary affairs minister, on Friday September 25.
Speaking to media persons in the city, he said, “Irregularities in building construction due to violation of laws should not be overlooked. So, there is need for an enforcement cell headed by a DIG-ranked police officer, so that the cell can keep an eye on illegal constructions”.
“New ‘Akrama-Sakrama’ programme has just been chalked out. It is to be discussed in the cabinet and will be implemented after cabinet approval. Later, the government will think about implementing it in all the city corporations”, added Kumar.
The minister is in the city to participate in the ‘Pandit Deena Dayal Upadhyaya birth anniversary’ celebration organized by Yuva Morcha of the Bharatiya Janata Party(BJP).
District-in-charge minister Krishna Palemar, Mayor Shankar Bhat, and MLA Yogish Bhat were present.
