Bangalore, Sep 22: 1975 batch IAS officer S V Ranganath is almost certain to replace the present chief secretary of the state government, Sudhakar Rao, who is set to retire on September 30.
Ranganath, who is presently on a deputation to the cantre as member (finance) of the Atomic Energy Commission, had earlier worked as secretary to Chief Ministers S M Krishna and H D Kumaraswami and as the principal secretary to Chief Minister Dharam Singh. He still has four more years of service to his credit. Even though there are six people who are senior to him for consideration, the state has given its nod for the appointent of Ranganath. Out of these six, two are on deputation to the centre and the remaining four will most likely be made chairpersons of different bodies.
It is gathered that Tara Ajai Singh, a 1975 batch IAS officer, is likely to be made the additional chief secretary.
