Mangaluru, Dec 30: ‘The Time Square Music Festival 2019’ was held at Expert Pre University College, Valachil which featured a range of top-notch renditions by the Indo-Western Fusion Music Band ‘Shadj’ comprising of the eight artistes who have performed worldwide and achieved excellence.
Capt Ganesh Karnik, former MLC, was the guest of honour on the occasion. Addressing the audience, he complimented Prof Narendra L Nayak, chairman, Expert Group of Institutions, for giving the students an exposure to the Indian Classical Art forms and elevating their taste to appreciate such genre of art forms. He opined that music is divine experience which helps us to become one with God.
The music festival was inaugurated by lighting the traditional lamp by the dignitaries present.
The band was led by Ankush A Nayak, a young sitarist whose music has evolved with his age. The other artistes included Sameer Rao on the Flute, Rajendra Nakod on the Tabla, Karthik Mani on the Drums, Vivek Santhosh on the Keyboard, Rajgopal on the Guitar, Avik Lahiri on the Bass Guitar and vocalist Keerthan Holla.
The audience had an exuberant moment and was enthralled by the high energy, innovative performances with acute technical skills and inventive repertoire of the artistes.

Dhruti V Hegde, lecturer in Chemistry, introduced the artistes,welcomed the dignitaries and compered the programme. Sheryl D’souza, lecturer in chemistry, rendered the vote of thanks.
