Puttur, Sep 17: Under the aegis of Vishwakarma Yuva Samaj and Vishwabrahman Seva Sangh here, a programme of 'Vishwakarma Puja', distribution of student scholarships and prize distribution function, were held at Sri Vishwakarma Auditorium located at Boluwar here on Wednesday September 16.
Mangalore St Agnes College lecturer Dr H Jayant, who participated as the chief guest at the stage programme organized on this occasion, advised the Vishwakarma community members, to imbibe and follow the ideals preached by Bhagawad Gita and Swami Vivekananda, and emerge as a model community for others. He appreciated the initiatives undertaken by the leaders of the community to encourage students through scholarships, and the talented people through talent rewards. He hoped that the students who have received scholarships or rewards, will make best use of the encouragement extended to them, and put in efforts to bring laurels to their parents, community and their native places.
Balaram Acharya, president of Puttur Vivekananda Engineering College governing council, in his address, asked the students never to forget the encouragement and support they have received from the society.
Vishwabrahmana Seva Sangh president H Upendra Acharya, secretary Jagadish S N, Vishakarma Yuva Samaj president B V Kiran, secretary S Keshav Acharya, Anand Acharya and Sridhar Acharya presented different programmes. B V Kishen compered the programme.
Vidwan Brahmasri K Ravindra Purohit led the rites connected with Vishwakarma Puja. Community feast had been organized in the afternoon.
