Ahmedabad, Sep 15: Chief minister Narendra Modi was Tuesday elected unopposed as the president of the Gujarat Cricket Association (GCA).
Modi replaced Narhari Amin, who has led the GCA for over a decade.
Amin had stepped down from the post of GCA chief on moral grounds a couple of months back after state home minister Amit Shah accused him of being involved in a financial scandal in the state association.
Shah was set to take over as the GCA chief but at the last minute the chief minister decided to take control of Gujarat cricket himself.
"In the next few days we will meet and find out ways to take Gujarat cricket ahead," Modi said.
