Mangalore, Sep 12: Permannur unit of the Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM) celebrated Teachers' Day at the auditorium of St Sebastian English Medium School, Permannur here, on September 6.
Permannur Church vicar Fr Thomas D'Souza presided. Fr Henry Sequeira, chancellor of the local diocese, was the chief guest. Representative of the teachers, Caroline Pais, ICYM president Raviraj and secretary Venessa were present at the dais.
The guests inaugurated the programme by lighting the lamp. Later, Fr Henry Sequeira delivered his message to the teachers. After the stage programme, the ICYM members presented an entertainment programme. Some games were also organized for the teachers present. Mementoes were handed over to the teachers by the vicar.
Assistant vicar, Fr Victor D'Souza, distributed prizes to the winners. ICYM vice president Lavita welcomed. Joint secretary Vidya Mamata proposed vote of thanks. Trishan presented the programme. A total of 48 teachers attended the programme.
