Mangaluru: Murder attempt at Suratkal hotel – Case registered

Mangaluru, Dec 16: A case has been registered in Suratkal police station pertaining to a murder attempt which reportedly happened at a hotel at Kana, Suratkal, at 10.30 pm on Saturday, December 14.

Jeevan Mascarenhas (23), resident of Janata Colony, had visited the said hotel along with another person identified as Prashanth. It is said Madhu and Rajesh Devadiga (35) from Janata Colony had attacked him with a sword in hand with the purpose of murdering him, the complainant stated.

Rajesh Devadiga already faces a case in the past, and he was not properly attending the court for hearing in that case. Existing enmity is said to be the case for the current attack.

This incident has happened some days after the murder attempt on Sandesh Karkera in a hotel at Suratkal on November 29.
