Mangaluru, Dec 14: It was an evening of fun and frolic as Konkan Overseas Returnees Welfare Association (KORWA) celebrated Christmas with a cultural event at St Sebastian Platinum Jubilee Hall, Bendore here on Saturday, December 14.
The event was dedicated to unprivileged children studying in schools in and around Mangaluru. The presence of scores of children made the event even more special.
Addressing the gathering, St Sebastian Church vicar Fr Vincent Monterio said, "Jesus always spoke about love and peace. When we love others, we tend to understand them. But when there is no love, peace also disappears. We should always be messengers of love and peace and do good to others. KORWA is celebrating Christmas with children as the main guests. This is truly appreciable," he said.
KORWA president Elias Sanctis welcomed the gathering and Manoj Lewis compered the programme.
Louis Lobo, programme convener, Lancy D’Souza, secretary and others were present.
The formal function was followed by a programme by Prajna Counselling Centre, St Angela Home, Bejai, Prashanth Nilaya, Jeppu, Infant Jesus Hostel, Kulshekar, De Marcide Orphanage, Paneer, Bala Yesu Nilaya, Maryhill and Jeevadan Gurupura.
