Mangaluru, Dec 12: A huge truck that was moving on airport road got stuck at Sharbath Katte junction in the city during the peak hour today morning. It is said that the truck was moving towards Yeyyadi industrial area.

The truck got stuck and blocked traffic on the airport road after its driver tried to take a U-turn at the said junction but found that it was not possible. People who were going to different destinations including offices, airport and on other work were held up. Those who were compelled to reach the airport and office on time, were left cursing the truck because of this unexpected delay caused by the thoughtlessness of the driver.

The police arrived on the spot, and attempts to move the truck away and pave way for smooth movement of traffic are going on.

The traffic is blocked since long. The road users have urged the authorities concerned not to allow heavy vehicles to move on important roads during peak hours. Such trucks create nuisance particularly for people using airport road who are in a hurry to reach airport, government offices, schools, hospitals etc on time.
