Bantwal: Carmel College Modankap holds annual NSS camp

Bantwal, Dec 6: The annual NSS camp of Carmel College, Modankap was held at St Joan’s Aided Higher Primary School, Allipade, here.

Around 50 NSS volunteers actively participated in the camp. Various educational and cultural programmes were organized for the campers and the general public.

In shramadan, volunteers worked on road construction, levelled the school campus, cleared the drainage channel and cleaned the area.



Volunteers created awareness about nutritious food and the effect of fast food on the public and the school children a street play.

The camp was inaugurated by Sr Maria Priya AC, joint secretary of Carmel Institutions and presided over by Dr Sr Latha AC, principal, Carmel College.

The valedictory address was given by Praveen A, principal, LCR College, Kakyapadav. The programme was presided over by R F Fredrick Monteiro, parish priest, St Thomas Church Allipade.

Sr Archana, superior, Kluni Convent, Allipade, Anziline Walder, HM, St Joans Primary School, Sr Selvi, HM St Joans High School, Ivan Lobo, vice-president, PTA, Carmel College, Prof H S Fernandes, former principal, Carmel College, Sr Naveen Principal, Carmel Composite PU College, Vinlet Pinto, president, ICYM, Allipade were some of the dignitaries present.
