Moodbidri: Speeding bus topples at Alangar - 18 passengers suffer injuries

Moodbidri, Dec 5: A private bus toppled due to the negligence of the driver near Alangar on Thursday evening, December 5. As many as 18 people suffered injuries in the accident.

The bus was speeding from Kollur to Mangaluru. The driver lost control over the bus near Alangar and toppled.

Suma, a resident of Gandhinagar, among the injured, sustained serious injuries. She was admitted to private hospital. 

Police inspector Dinesh Kumar, staff and locals helped to shift the remaining injured to the hospital.

A case was registered at Moodbidri police station in this connection.

    Sad to hear the news, will pray for your speedy recovery, we are daily travelers in this route there are several buses running out of maintenance and fitness also, best example Pradeeptha bus they are playing with passengers life, requested the concerned department to take strict actions and arrange government buses in Mangalore – Karkala route.

    Why this Kolaveri D? Trying to improve collection and speed thrills but kills. Not only dangerous for passengers but also for two wheeler riders, pedestrians and etc. Abolish the private bus mafia. It will be safe to travel in the twin districts of DK and Udupi.

    First of all before controlling the bus drivers it very important to control their owners and bus association.

    These owners press the drivers for more collection. Otherwise they may loose the job. That what I heard.

    Suspend the license and route permit for atleast for one year and put the driver and bus company in black list.

    There more good suggestions, but our RTO,ADMINISTRATION, TRAFFIC DEPARTMENT are helpless because of politicians. If politicians decide regarding this bus problems, this can control in only one day.

    Most of these PVT bus companies are owned by politicians or people very well connected with politicians. So, nothing will happen

    This not a Lost Control of the Bus....Bottom Line is .. this is a No CONTROL on Bus drivers/or on heavy vehicles by Traffic Rules enforcements such as speeding, talking at work,..Most of them have high BP while driving. ..etc..They play on others Lives..
    NO way.. Lost control.. because most of the Mangalore Buses are relatively new, and very low mileage
