Moodbidri, Dec 3: The Annual Day of Carmel School Moodbidiri was celebrated in the school auditorium.
The programme began with the arrival of chief guest Dr Devi Prabha Alva, the assistant professor at St Agnes College, Mangaluru, accompanied by the school joint secretary Sr Maria Niveditha, principal Sr Jyothi Saldanha, and Sr Leonilla AC, principal, Holy Rosary Composite PU College, were given an impressive welcome by the school band playing their rhythmic beats.
The school follows the tradition of seeking Almighty’s blessing before commencing any programme. Thus, once the guests were seated the programme began by invoking God’s blessing with a prayer song. The guests and parents were warmly embraced with a musical welcome dance with a radiance of its own. Musical tunes played by the orchestra of school, echoed throughout the auditorium. Principal Sr Jyothi Saldanha introduced and welcomed the chief guest and extended a warm welcome to all the dignitaries and the gathering. On this occasion our students were awarded for 100% attendance, 1st and 2nd place in academics from class I to class X, trophies from each of the four squads, toppers in Diocesan Examination Mangaluru in Catechism and Moral Science of class VII and X, Best Outgoing Student, Best Athlete, Sponsored prizes in English, Hindi, Mathematics, Science and Social Studies. The toppers of the Board Exams of class X for the year 2019, Alex Rojan, Chris D’souza, Leora Sania Rodrigues were felicitated by the chief guest. Sujal of class X and Sanvith Kulal of class II were honoured for their outstanding performances over the years.
In her address, Dr Devi Prabha congratulated the students for their achievements, good schooling and their value based education. She was impressed by the impeccable performance showcased by the students across different grades and appreciated the choice of themes performed by the students. She encouraged the parents to be a mentor and appreciate their children. She mentioned that education gives knowledge but having a good personality is important to succeed in life.
The programme was compered by teachers Clara D’Costa and Ramya rendered the vote of thanks.
