Mangaluru, Nov 30: ‘Beyond The Horizon’ a new world with ounces of opportunities and compassion lingers on and echoes in our hearts and mind. With this profound theme in mind, the primary section of St Theresa's School, Bendore, here on November 29 presented its Annual Day at the school premises.
Bethany Congregation is heading towards its centenary year in 2021, so the annual day was dedicated to the school's Father founder, Raymond Mascarenhas and the Bethany Congregation.
It was an atmosphere filled with jubilation as the tiny tots showcased their talents preceding weeks of dedicated hard work. The dignitaries were accorded the guard of honour at the commencement of the programme. Eminent personalities - Sr Rose Celine, the superior general of Bethany Congregation and president of Bethany Educational Society, Mangaluru, D Mahesh Kumar, general manager Smart City Limited, Fr Vincent Monterio, parish priest St Sebastian Church, Bendore, Sr Anita Shanti, superior of Bethany Mother House, Charleen Rebimbus, PTA vice-president, Sr Shanti Priya, Sr Lillita, Sr Christine, Sr Philomene, principal and Sr Lourdes vice-principal graced the occasion. Also present were the staff and the parents of the institution.
The programme began with an insightful prayer to the divine creator followed by a heart-warming welcome dance and speech by grade 3. The students of grade 2 unfolded the story of 'The Servant of God' R F C Mascarenhas with the 'Inception and Solidarity' followed by a Kannada skit 'Saamarasyada Haadiyalli'.
Grade 4 brought out the value, respect for life and the nation, on the theme 'The New Awakening'. The grand finale was a mesmerizing performance by grade 5 students which sent forth a message 'Let the light of the divine radiate to change the world'.
The school play was a feast to the eye and enlightened the lovely audience. The graceful dances and the sweet-toned voices mystified the audience and this morphed into a memory. Sr Rose Celine presided over the function and spoke about the life and virtues propagated by the Father founder. Mahesh Kumar addressing the gathering spoke about transforming the world, encouraging students to be smart learners and to challenge the smart city by following the right path.
The journey was exciting in the long quest for enlightenment and wisdom for this is a world filled with wonders and we can now look 'Beyond the Horizon!' The entire programme was compered by Crisselle and Ritwik.
