Udupi, Nov 29: Children’s Day celebrated on November 14 is the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawarharlal Nehru, the first prime minister of independent India.
The day is celebrated on Pandit Nehru’s birthday as he loved children very much, he believed that they are the future of our country and that they should be nurtured with great love and affection.
Nirmala English Medium School Brahmavara celebrated Children's Day with the day’s chief guest Sindu, Alwyn Andrade and Vivek D’Souza and Vaman Palan, Fr Joslie D’Silva the principal and the school's SPL and ASPL who were present.
Lots of events and activities were held. The cultural programme was organized by the teachers, while the chief guest performed a mono act. She also addressed the gathering. The Headmaster encouraged the children through his inspiring message.
Vivek D’Souza, the music teacher donated a Casio and thereafter after the cultural programme prizes were distributed to all the winners of the different classroom activities. The beautiful day concluded with inter-group competitions.
On the occasion, sweets were provided by the parents of UKG student, Sinchana Madhyastha.
