Media Release

Mangaluru, Nov 14: Jawaharlal Nehru popularly known as 'Chacha Nehru' has rightly said, 'Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow'.

In memory of his birthday, St Theresa’s School, Bendore, here celebrated Children’s Day which began with a Eucharistic celebration. It was officiated by Fr Leo Lasrado at St Sebastian’s Church praying for good health and safety of the children.

As part of the celebration, the teaching and non-teaching faculty of the school were dressed up in a variety of colourful attire and presented programmes such as informative skits, dances, songs etc.

The students were thrilled and glad to see their teachers perform on stage and applauded them. It was a fun-filled day for the children.

The main attraction of the day was the celebration of the birthday of the school's loved principal, Sr Philomene Saldanha and the students who also celebrate their birthday on November 14.

The celebration concluded by distribution of cake and ice-cream to the students. It was a day happily spent.

Children’s Day indeed holds a special place for everyone.
