Moodbidri, Nov 13: Glorifying the name of the college, Mangalore Institute of Technology and Engineering (MITE), a group of five members, Kavyashree C M, Yuktha N Gowdaz Shreya S, Prachi Sahu and Nithyashree U from the Department of Aeronautical Engineering participated in the Hover Pod Challenge held at IIT Kharagpur and won second place. The event was organized by National Space Students Challenge (NSSC) held from November 1 to 3.
The students who participated in the events are Adarsh T, Swathira, Shreesha K J, Akshay Kamath, Jayantha, Junaid M J, Kavyashree C M, Prachi Sahu, Yuktha N Gowda, Shreya S and Nithyashree U.
A total number of 26 teams participated in the national level competition including various IIT and NIT college teams. The challenge was to build a hover board based on the specifications provided beforehand.
The hover board had to cross various obstacles, travel on water and reach the finish line. Based on the precision working of the hover board, skill of the controller and the accurate path followed, marks were provided. This is the second consecutive time MITE students participated in the national level hover Pod Challenge and bagged a prize.
MITE won the first and second prize Hover Pod competition in the year 2018 also.
