IMA Udupi supports Bengaluru doctors’ strike

Udupi, Nov 9: Indian Medical Association (IMA), Udupi Karavali members handed over memorandum copy to additional deputy commissioner Sadhashiva Prabhu at his chamber, DC office on Friday, November 8, to extend their support to doctors’ of the government Minto Eye Hospital Bengaluru. Members of Karnataka Rakshana Vedike (KRV) attacked on duty doctor.

IMA members also demanded to take certain strict action against KRV workers, who have assaulted doctors. Such incidents should not be repeated. The culprit must be punished. Government should provide protection to doctors, and allow them to take independent decisions during emergency to work fearlessly, said the memorandum.

Dr Umesh Prabhu, president of IMA Udupi, Dr Prakash, secretary, Dr Ranjitha S Nayak, treasurer, members of IMA Udupi, namely Dr P V Bhandary, state council members and other office bearers were present.
