Brahmavar: Illegal cattle transportation - Animals rescued, vehicle impounded

Brahmavar, Nov 2: Illegal transportation of cattle was detected at Halli Ubbu in Kudi village near here on Friday November 1 morning. The accused succeeded in escaping.

Brahmavar police sub-inspector, Raghavendra C, based on reliable information, reached Kudi village along with some staff and signaled a Bolero pick-up vehicle to stop. The vehicle was stopped but the three persons who were inside, managed to flee, leaving the vehicle behind.

The vehicle had 17 cattle valued at about Rs 52,000 which were illegally being transported to a slaughterhouse, it is said. One of the calves had died by the time the vehicle was stopped and the animals were rescued.

Brahmavar police have registered a case against the concerned. Investigation has been undertaken.
