Mangaluru: MCC Elections: Christian candidates meet bishop, seek blessings

Mangaluru, Nov 1: Christian candidates contesting from Indian National Congress in the upcoming Mangaluru City Corporation (MCC) elections met Dr Peter Paul Saldanha, bishop of Mangaluru and sought his blessings. 

Lancelot Pinto from Bejai Ward No 31, Naveen R D’Souza from Bendur Ward No 38, Jacintha Vijay Alfred from Falnir Ward No 39, Ashith George Pereira from Kankanady - Valencia Ward No 48, A C Vinayaraj from Court Ward No 40, Kirana James Peter from Shivabagh ward No 34 and Gayathri Aranha from Kulai ward No 9 are the Christian candidates contesting for Mangaluru City Corporation elections which will be held on November 12. 

All the Christian candidates promised the bishop that they will work for the betterment of society and development of Mangaluru city. 

The bishop blessed all the candidates and wished them good luck.   

The candidates were accompanied by Shalet Pinto, district president of Mahila Congress and other community leaders.
