Mangaluru, Nov 1: In an incident which happened near Manjanady gram panchayat on Thursday October 31, a village accountant on duty was attacked by the owner of a sand truck that was transporting sand illegally to Kerala. In this respect, a case was registered against the lorry owner.
The accused in this case happens to be Muhammed Kunhi, resident of Mudipu. He has been accused of obstructing Attavar village accountant Avinash, from discharging his duty. Kunhi has now been absconding.
A team under the guidance of assistant commissioner had been formed to stop illegal transportation of sand. Accordingly, Avinash had demanded from the sand lorry driver to produce sand permit. The driver contacted his owner over phone. Lorry owner, Muhammed Kunhi, came in his Innova car to the spot, pushed and shoved Avinash around, and asked the sand truck to move ahead, it is said.
Avinash thereafter filed complaint in the police station. Konaje police have registered a case of obstructing government employee from discharging his duties.
