Bantwal, Aug 8: The Farangipet–Meramajal Association of Auto Rickshaw Drivers–Owners embarked on a postcard campaign on Friday August 7, to press the state administration to fulfill their various demands.
CITU district co-ordinating committee secretary Vishnumurti alleged that the state administration is causing injustice to poor auto rickshaw-men by disregarding the union government’s directive to form a welfare board for workers of the unorganized sector.
Vishnumurti urged the state administration to extend all facilities that are awarded by the state governments of Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
“Association members will stage a district-level rally and state-level ‘Khaki dress’ campaign if their postcard campaign to chief minister B S Yeddyurappa does not get the desired results”, said Vishnumurti.
Farangipet-Meramajal Auto Rickshaw Drivers–Owners Association presidents Monu and Janardan Kulal, secretaries Umesh Kuttikala and Nazir were present on the occasion.
