Bengaluru, Oct 26: In two separate accidents which occurred at Chikkamagaluru and Kunigal on Friday October 25, eight persons lost their lives including a driver.
On Friday morning, a car went out of the control of its driver near Badavanadinne in Moodigere taluk in Chikkamagaluru district and plunged into a water pit by the roadside. Three persons died on the spot in this accident. All the deceased in this accident belonged to Hebbal, Bengaluru, it is said.
Their identities have been given as Yashodha (82), Prakash (61), and Anirudh (24). Anuroopa (19) and Narasinga Rao (91) are in critical condition.
In the other accident, a car hit a tractor from behind near Amrathur revenue division, resulting in the death of five persons including the car driver. A person suffered grievous injuries in the accident, and he has been admitted into a hospital at Bengaluru. The deceased were Kiran (driver), Rajanna, Mohan, Madhu, and Rangaswamy from Bengaluru. They used to earn a living at Bengaluru by undertaking miscellaneous works including working as mason, coolie etc. They had come on a visit to their native place, Kallalli, and had hit a tractor when moving towards Hosakere. The car was also badly damaged in the accident.
The police had to hire JCBs to bring out the bodies. A case was registered in Amruthur police station.
