Mangaluru, Oct 24: The nomination filing will commence from October 24 for the upcoming city corporation elections, informed deputy commissioner Sindhu Rupesh.

Addressing media here on Wednesday October 23, she said, "The last date to file nomination is October 31. The nominations will be scrutinised on November 2. Candidates can withdraw their nominations on or before November 4. The elections will be held on November 12 and the counting will be on November 14.

“As many as 12 returning officers have been appointed to accept nominations in 60 wards, while 12 officers have been appointed to look in to the implementations of model code of conduct.

“There are 3,87,517 voters under MCC limits in which 1,99,989 are male, 1,87,465 are female voters and 63 are transgender voters. There will be 448 polling stations in MCC limits. For polling, as many as 601 control units and ballot units have been received by district administration. Rosario Educational Institution in Pandeshwar has been selected for mustering, demustering and counting process, “ she said.
