Sullia, Aug 5: A self-styled moral policeman, who grew suspicious about the movements of a couple that boarded a bus to Mangalore, passed on the information to the policemen that a man and woman from different religions were travelling together in the bus, on Tuesday August 4. The policemen promptly came on the scene and questioned the couple, at the local bus stand.
A man, who wrongly thought that the couple sitting together in the bus belonged to different religions, had conveyed the information to the policemen. During questioning, the passengers revealed that they were going to Mangalore to admit their daughter in a college there. The husband works as an omelette vendor in Gandhinagar here, while his wife works in Kuwait. She had come home on leave recently.
The fact that the wife did not wear burkha at the time, seems to have alerted the criminal instincts of the complainant. The overactive self-styled moral policemen, who want to view everything with a religious colour have of late, not only been giving sleepless nights to the real policemen but also the citizens at large.
