October 9, Udupi: Srishti Nritya Kala Kuteera (R) Udupi, in co-ordination with Sri Krishna Math Paryaya and Sri Palimaru Math, Udupi, will present Nrityotsava-2019 on October 10 and 11 at rajangana of Sri Krishna math from 8 am to 9.30 pm. This information was given at a press conference that was held in the city on Wednesday, October 9.
Dr Manjari Chandra Pushparaj, president of Srishti Nritya Kala Kuteera said, “The programme will be inaugurated by Vidyadeesha Teertha Swamiji of Paryaya Sri Palimar Math, Udupi, in the presence of the honourable guests Tulsi Devadiga Katapadi, Major G C Rajashekhar, M S Vishnu and Padmalatha M.
“On October 10, five solo, two duets and one trio dance performance will be exhibited by the students. In the evening Srishtians will be presenting ‘NrityaMargam’ with Pushpanjali, Alaripu, Jathiswara, Shabdam, Varna, Krithis, Nottuswra, Devarnaama, Kavadi and Thillana having 65 students of Sristhi trained by vid Dr Manjari Chandra Pushparaj. The event will be supported by vocalists vid Balasubramanya Sharma, Mridangam by vid Janardhan Rao, Flute by vid Nitish Ammannaya, choreography and nattuvangam by vid Dr Manjari Chandra Pushparaj.
“On October 11, there will be six solo and two duet performances throughout the day. At 3 pm, a dance drama ‘Barkuru Vaibhava’ will be performed by Sristhi junior artists. It will be followed by the valedictory programme, which will be graced by honourable guests, Vidyadeesha Swamiji, Paryaya Sri Palimaru Math Udupi and Kota Srinivas Poojary, minister for fisheries, K Raghupathi Bhat, Suresh Shetty Gurme, Ravi Devadiga, Karnataka Kalashri Rajashree and Suparna Shetty. Sristi will be honouring Guru Ullal Mohan Kumar with the title of ‘Srishti Jeshta Shreshta Prashasthi 2019’.
“The two-day festival of Bharatanatyam will conclude with the main attraction ‘Mahakali’ Nrithya Roopaka at 8 pm presented by Srishti’s senior artistes. Special graphical effects are going to enrich the whole event.”
