Puttur: Senior citizen hangs himself from tree

Puttur, Sep 30: Narayana Gowda (64), resident of Shediguri in Aryapu village in the taluk hanged himself from a tree near his home on Saturday September 28 evening.

Gowda was working as driver in the past. On Saturday, he was at home till 2 pm but was not seen thereafter. As he was not seen for a long time, the family members went search for him.

After a prolonged search, Narayana Gowda's body was found hanging from a cashew tree in the land belonging to Damodar Gowda. His body was hanging from a noose made of nylon rope. Reasons for his taking this extreme decision are not yet known.

On the basis of complaint filed by Deekshit, son of the deceased, a complaint was registered by the rural police here.
