Mangalore, Jul 20: The eight day workshop on Advanced integrated manual therapy technique was inaugurated at Dr M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy on the city outskirts on Monday, July 20.
Speaking after inaugurating the workshop, Dr Abdul Majeed, head of the department of surgery in Yenapoya Medical College called on students to respect and uplift Physiotherapy stream with love and dedication towards the profession.
College principal Dr Susan Verghese said that the workshop will lay emphasis on advanced manual therapy technique for extremities and spine (Maitland, McKenzie, Kaltenborn and Mulligan concepts). It is organized to equip students with excellent skills and thus will prove to be an asset in rehabilitation of the patients, he said.
Dr Chandra Iyer, resource person of the workshop and assistant professor, Hardikar College of Physiotheraphy, Pune gave the keynote address. Raghavendra Mudya, superintendent of Dr M V Shetty Trust colleges presided.
The workshop is organized in association with Sports and Fitness Training Federation of India. The workshop will conclude on July 28.
