Chitradurga, Sep 25: In a shocking incident that is reported from R D Kavalu village of Holalkere taluk of the district, a minor boy killed his father by slitting throat for snatching the mobile phone from his hand in order to prevent him from getting addicted to it.
The news had spread that Jayappa (48), who was working as a gram panchayat bill collector, was murdered by some unknown assailants in the dead of the night. A case in this connection was also registered in the Holalkere police station. Police who visited the house of Jayappa inquired the inmates of the house.
The cops came to know that deceased Jayappa's wife had been to her relative’s house and only father and son were at home. Subsequently, police interrogated Puneet (16), son of deceased Jayappa. During the interrogation, Puneet confessed that he has killed his own father for rebuking him and snatching away the mobile phone on which he was playing at late in the night.
Puneet, who was enraged by his father's act in the night, killed him by slitting his throat with a machete that was available in the house, in the early morning.
Now minor Puneet is under the custody of police.
