Udupi, Sep 25: A deanery level sports meet 'Youlimpics-2k19' for ICYM members was held recently at St Mary's English Medium School premise.

Fr Johnson Sequeira, principal of St Mary's English Medium School inaugurated the event.

Fr Valerian Mendonca, parish priest Mother of Sorrows Church, Udupi presided over the function.

Volleyball, throwball and football competitions were held for the ICYM members.

A sports meet was organized by the ICYM Udupi unit in association with Manipal unit. The first phase of the event included volleyball, throwball and football tournaments.



The second phase of the tournament will be held on October 2 at Christ Church Manipal which will include badminton and kabaddi tournaments.

Fr Ronson D'Souza, ICYM animator Udupi deanery, Wilton D'Souza, president Udupi deanery, Glaston Menezes, secretary Bennet Lobo, president ICYM Udupi unit, Leslie Cornelio, animator ICYM Udupi unit were present on the occasion.

All the seven parishes of the deanery participated in the event.

Results of the volleyball, throwball and football competitions:

Volleyball: First place - Moodubelle
Second place - Perampalli

Throwball: First place - Kuntalnagar
Second place - Udupi

Football: First place - Udupi
