Oscar-winning Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio lends support to ‘Cauvery Calling’

Coimbatore, Sep 24: Oscar-winning Hollywood actor Leonardo DiCaprio is well-known for his devotion to the promotion of environmental causes. Lately, Leonardo was found supporting one such cause the 'Cauvery Calling,' a movement launched by the Isha Foundation in India.

He recently posted a message on his Facebook saying, "India’s rivers are severely endangered with many of its smaller rivers vanishing. Join Sadhguru and the Isha Foundation in their fight to preserve the Cauvery river.”

As per an Isha release, the Facebook post has been widely shared and has gained a lot of attention.

In the year 2018, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev was also invited by Leonardo's foundation for their Earth Sense event.

Earlier in July 2019, Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev announced the launch of 'Cauvery Calling', to revitalize the dying river. The river is considered to be the source of livelihoods, irrigation and drinking water for over 84 million people.

Cauvery Calling is the movement which will render support to farmers in the Cauvery basin. The movement will help in the plantation of 242 crore trees which will not only contribute to the revival of the river but will also help in the growth of fortune of the farmers.

    And we have "dummy" A lister Bollywood actors running round the trees, jumping. Here and there.. 🐸.. They are everywhere were there is money, masala crappy movies, dancing on wedding, endorsing rubbish product, they don even know what are they endorsing..,

    u can even see them jumping into politics to make more money... obviously they will not go on visiting houses to check on people, cuz they are too much worried about skin tanning... And here we have blind fans building temple for them, temples for people who don't have spine/ nerve to speak up for a cause..

    Don't comment without any any proof. I was part of the launch program at Madikeri. Sadguru is travelling across River Kaveri basins to spread word about planting saplings and growing income of the farmers. If you can donate some trees and don't spread false messages. This is crowd funded program.

    Since you have worked closely on this initiative I would like to know one thing... Why there was deforestation in that Isha foundation area Tamil Nadu??? Why did a simple lady from that village area accuse him of doing injustice to them??

    It may be a distant dream of Sadguruji Sir but can be a reality! Nothing is impossible if people have a will. Sadguru's preachings are simple and a common man understand. He is true patriotic Indian to keep India's inherited culture,values and etho's. I support Sadguruji for this 'noble deed' to preserve Indian values to safeguard millions of farmers livelihood. He doesn't misguide at all. I salute you Sadguruji to carry forward your mission.
