Bahrain, Jul 17: A grand finale ceremony of Kiran More’s cricket coaching was held on Tuesday July 14 at Indian school Bahrain at 6.30 pm.
Chairman John Abraham and rest of the committee members welcomed Ajay Kumar, First secretary of Indian embassy, Mohammed Ali Abdul, president of Bahrain Cricket Association, Mubarak Saad Al Atwi, chairman of Al Ahli Club Bahrain and Kiran More at the entrance. The Indian school band played welcome song which was applauded by the audience. The programme started with prayer and followed by Bahrain & Indian national anthem played by ISB band. Then the principal and chairman escorted all the dignitaries to the dais where they were given flower bouquet.
Cricket clinic report was read by Mukunda Warrier. He informed the audience that there were 125 students who participated in the cricket coaching camp with two girls. There were 5 age groups consisting of 25 students each. He thanked all the parents for their support and the students for their cooperation during coaching period.
John Abraham, chairman of ISB thanked Kiran More and Bahrain Cricket Association for their full support and he assured that these types coaching clinics will be continued. Mohammed Ali Abdul, president of Bahrain cricket association said that very soon Bahrain cricket will be in best position and in August Bahrain cricket team will be playing in Singapore and he was sure that one day all Bahrainies will play cricket instead of football. Later on Mubarak Saad Al Atwi and Aref Sadeq gave their few hints to all cricketers and Aref Sadeq, who is also a sponsor who donated BD 25000/- to the school fund.
Ajay Kumar, first secretary thanked all the committee member, parents and Kiran More in particular for his dedication to cricket field.
Kiran More in his speech appreciated all the 125 students for their well behaviour while he was coaching. He thanked the ISB chairman committee members, principal DR A S Pillai, Chandrakant Shetty general secretry in particular for taking care of him during his stay in Bahrain. Later on he distributed certificates to all the students.
Chandrakant Shetty, general secretry in his vote of thanks expressed his gratitude towards Standard Chartered Bank for their golden sponsorship and their full support. He also thanked other sponsors and all who made this coaching stint successful. He specially thanked Kiran More for making time to take up coaching responsibility despite his busy schedule.
Later on Indian School children performed ‘Vande Matharam’ song while a Punjabi dance was performed by the ISB students.
