Bengaluru, Sep 23: Head constable of traffic police station Mahaswamy, who had assaulted the driver of mini truck, the video of which had gone viral on social media, has been transferred from Halasoor Gate traffic police station to training department. He will be again trained in traffic handling.
Mahaswamy had attacked mini truck driver Sunil near Town Hall in city. In addition, the head constable had used abusive language against the driver. The video of the same had gone viral on social media.
An FIR stands registered against the mini truck driver Sunil for obstructing the duty of the constable. Similarly Mahaswamy stands transferred to other department. A departmental inquiry has been ordered of the whole incident.

"The head constable, who has been transferred, needs training in sensitive skills. So he has been deputed for 10 days of training," said joint commissioner of traffic department B R Ravikanthe Gowda.
A preliminary report was prepared by ACP C J Rangaswamy on the whole incident of assault on the driver by head constable Mahaswamy. He is accused of dereliction of duty in the report and accordingly he has been transferred for fresh training.
Chargesheet has been prepared against Mahaswamy and a departmental inquiry has been ordered. An officer of the grade of DySP will conduct the inquiry. Once the inquiry is over, decision will be taken on the action that needs to be taken against Mahaswamy.
Giving details of the incident and action taken, B R Ravikanthe Gowda, said, "Skills training will be given to the head constable. So he has been sent to 10 days of training. He will be taught on people-friendly policing and also how to behave with the public,"
In the midst of this, Sunil, the mini truck driver, who was at the receiving end of the anger of head constable Mahaswamy, has gone missing since the evening of Friday. Sunil had called his mother and had given details of the assault that had taken place on him. However, his mobile phone is in switched off mode after that.
It is said that four strangers had even gone to the house of Sunil on the night of Saturday and threatened his mother. A case in this connection stands registered in the Puttenahalli police station.
