Mangaluru: Ten boats, 30 sand loads, confiscated at Adamkudru

Mangaluru, Sep 22: The officials of mines and geology department have continued to conduct raids on illegal sand extraction activities in the district. The officials raided a dock near Kallapu Adamkudru near Netravati bridge on Saturday, September 21.

Deputy commissioner of police (law and order), Arunanshugiri, led the raid. Acting deputy director of mines and geology department, Padmashree, guided the operation in which crane and trucks were used. The officials said that six boats were confiscated by Saturday evening and four more would be taken into custody on Sunday by completing the processes.

The sand seized by the officials was shifted to the government yard at Ganjimath. City reserve police force and police personnel led by Kankanady rural police inspector, Ashok, supported the action by mines and geology department.
