Mangaluru: 'Gandhi - 150' Chintana Yatre launch on October 2 - Senthil as speaker

Mangaluru, Sep 21: Under the joint aegis of Samadarshi Vedike Mangaluru and 'Gandhi - 150' birth anniversary celebrations committee, 'Gandhi - 150' Chintana Yatre will be flagged off at 9.30 am on October 2. The inaugural will be held at Sri Brahma Baidarkala Garody premises at Kankanady here. On this occasion, special puja will be offered at the Gandhi shrine at the Garody.

Thereafter, a symposium will be held at Sarvamangala auditorium of the Garody. Former deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district Sasikanth Senthil, who recently resigned in protest against certain policies of the union government, will participate as chief guest. A release said that Senthi will speak on 'Bapu and Nationalism' while litterateur Dr Jagadish Koppa, will speak on 'Bapu - guiding light of humanity'.

The programme will be organized with the joint participation of 'Samudaya' Mangaluru, Bharathiya Janakala Samiti, Dakshina Kannada Dalit Sangharsha Samiti, Apna Desh volunteers forum, Prajna Counselling Centre and other organizations and institutions, the release stated.
