Talaguppa: Thieves steal pickle when unable to find valuables

Talaguppa, Sep 21: A series of thefts have taken place in Bachagaru village, Sagar taluk on September 19. Thieves have broken into roadside houses and taken away cash, silver and electronic items. But they have stolen pickle from one of the houses as they could not find gold or cash to steal.

Thieves have entered the house of Shunti Satyanarayana Bhat, Bachagaru village on Sagar-Linganamakki Jog Falls road but did not find any valuables there. But they felt the flavour of pickle made of tiny raw mangoes. They have tasted it there and taken away most of it later.

Thefts have occurred in the houses of Gurumoorthy Galimane and Bharathi Jayaram. Thieves who have observed that the house people had gone to distant village locking their house have stolen items from there. Rs 4,000 was stolen from the house of Sripathi, a resident when he had gone to Shivamogga 15 days ago. The thefts are said to be similar.

Talaguppa sub police station’s Manjunath and Sagara crime branch staff Fairoz visited the spot and conducted investigations. Gram panchayat member Prasanna Kolachagaru was present.
