Bengaluru, Sep 18: Chief minister (CM), B S Yediyurappa, expressed fury over the Congress party, which is protesting against the central government for not giving funds for flood relief work.
Speaking to reporters in the city, the CM said, "The flood situation similar to our state has occurred in five to six states of the country. The central government will release aid to all the states at once. It is going to release funds for flood relief work soon,"
"Congress is hurrying in this matter. It is not right on their part to protest against the central government in a hurry. They do not have any other programme, so they are protesting. They are carrying out these protests to create confusion and chaos among the public. The state government has already released Rs one lac each to build houses. Rs 10,000 emergency funds have been given to the families. We have taken urgent measures. But Congress is not satisfied. So they are trying to play politics. Let them protest happily," added Yediyurappa.
Objecting to the statement of former CM Siddaramaiah's advice of taking an all-party delegation to Delhi to meet the Prime Minister (PM) PM, B S Yediyurappa said, "There is no need to take an all-party delegation to the PM. We have faith in our PM. He will release the aid as soon as possible."
