Bengaluru, Sept 17: The Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FKCCI) has strongly opposed the proposed All India Strike by the Bank employees on September 26 and 27.

The closure of the banks for two days is also followed by series of holidays on Sept 28 due to fourth saturday and Mahalaya Amavasya on Sept 29 for Sunday and October 2 for Gandhi Jayanti.

This is in addition to Sept 30 being the Half Year Ending, when there will be no bank transactions

The closure of banks for 6 crucial days will have an adverse effect not only for the general public but also for the trade and industry.

The strike by the bank employees at this crucial time when the economy is in slowdown, is ill timed, unpatriotic with selfish motives and shows that they have no consideration for the people and the nation., FKCCI said.

FKCCI strongly opposes such strikes and bandhs which cause considerable hardship and loss to the public and to the nation.

FKCCI appeals to the bank employees to defer the All India Bank Strike scheduled on Sept 26 and 27 in the interest of the nation and take up their issues separately without causing inconvenience to the public for redressal in a different forum with the appropriate authorities.
