Hassan, Sep 12: In a shocking incident which happened at Agasarahalli village in Bagur revenue division of Channarayapatna taluk in the district on Wednesday September 11, three persons from a family were electrocuted together.
The deceased were Bhagyamma (55), her daughter Dakshayani (35), and son Dayanand (31). At around 6.30 am on Wednesday, Dakshayani was trying to hang clothes by the clothesline as usual. One end of the line was tied to the electric pole. She suffered from electric shocks as electricity was being transmitted by the clothesline. Her mother, Bhagyamma, and brother, Dayanand, heard her cries and rushed to release Dakshayani from the clothesline. They too suffered from electric shocks and all the three were electrocuted.
The police have registered a case. They said that the people have often been reminded not to tie the clotheslines and not to tether their cattle to the electric poles. The officials said that they hope that the people will understand the gravity of coming in contact with electric poles and wires, and stay away from them at least from now on.
