Udupi: Unique 'Bellada Ganapati' idol at Maruti Vithika

Udupi, Sep 2: Zilla Nagarika Samiti Trust (R) and Pancharatna Seva Trust have jointly organized the exhibition of an environment-friendly 'Bellada Ganapati', idol of Lord Ganesha made of jaggery, which was made especially for the occasion of Ganesha Chathurthi at Mandya. This idol is kept for public view at the mantap of Maruti Veethika of Chittaranjan Circle in the city.

Vijendra Bhat of Katapady has specially got the lump of jaggery weighing 240 kg for this purpose from Mandya and gave it to the organizers. The Lord Ganesh idol from this huge lump of jaggery is nicely carved by the team of artists consisting of Lokesh Chitpady, Ravi Hirebettu and Vasudeva Chitpadi. Sudhakara Pana will decorate the mantap of Lord Ganesha with coconut palm fronds.



The exhibition of Bellada Ganapati idol will be inaugurated at 9 am on Monday, September 3 by the eminent personalities of all religions. Thereafter the idol will be open to public for viewing as per the information shared by Nityananda Olakadu.
