Mangaluru: Court quashes petition seeking restraint order against Kashi Math head

Mangaluru, Aug 29: The principal munsiff court at Kochi had dismissed a petition filed against spiritual head of Kashi Math, Sri Samyamindra Teertha Swamiji. Through their petition, Atmanand Rao and Kartik Bhat had urged the court to block Sri Samyamindra Teertha Swamiji from entering Lord Tirumala temple at Kochi.

The court observed that this suit was filed with the specific purpose of restraining the Swamiji from entering the temple. It said that the court will not support such unconstitutional things.

The court also observed that there are tell-tale signs to suggest that expelled junior Swamiji of Kashi Math, Raghavendra Teertha, would have filed this suit through proxies. It pointed out that Kerala high court has already declared Raghavendra alias Shivananda Pai as a person who has fled from proper legal processes and termed him as a 'Swamiji who escapes'.
