Kundapur, Aug 29: The absence of tahsildar yet again to the taluk panchayat meeting here caused anguish. There was confusion in the meeting as there were no clarifications regarding temple in government hospital, scanning department and morgue. Taluk panchayat member Jagadish Devadiga said that Aadhaar problem in Byndoor taluk center is acute. “There is only one centre for Aadhaar registration and correction. As Aadhaar is getting linked for everything, people come in large numbers. The centers should be increased and upgraded to gram panchayat levels. There are four Aadhaar centers in Kundapur. There should be arrangements for them in Byndoor also,” he said.

“The provision for Aadhaar correction in gram panchayats that was available before elections has stopped. Private agencies also have stopped. Therefore, the tahsildar should take action immediately,” urged the members.



“Kundapur tahsildar is repeatedly remaining absent from taluk panchayat meeting. The dairy of tahsildar on the days of taluk panchayat meetings should be verified. Action should be taken against him if he purposely remains absent,” urged Mahendra Poojary. “The information available in Kundapur taluk office is wrong. Tahsildar who should be answering to problems does not come for the meetings,” said angry members.

Jyothi Putran asked if any action is taken about problems that are discussed. Pushparaj Shetty, Karuna Poojary, Pravin Shetty, Shailashree and Malini K spoke about the absence of tahsildar and problems of revenue department.

There were discussions on installing solar lamps. Members expressed dissatisfaction that the plan is pending despite urging to call for tender. Malini K, Vasudev Pai, Jagadish Devadiga, Mahendra Poojary and Jyothi Putran spoke about it.

Umesh Shetty drew attention to the scarcity of doctors in Shankernarayana government hospital and urged for action in this connection.

Pushparaj Shetty said that people do not have a clear idea about Ayushman Arogya cards and asked to explain about it at every house. Taluk medical officer Dr Nagabhooshan Udupa said that handbills are printed and distributed. Pushparaj Shetty suggested delivering them to houses through Asha activists.

Pravin Kumar Shetty said that district medical officer should explain about maintenance of temple in Kundapur government hospital. Karun Poojary spoke about non maintenance of morgue there. He alleged that Shanker Poojary, a patient is not attended to properly when he came for dialysis. The medical officer was asked to take action.

Senior member Raju Devadiga said that discussions should be held in the presence of concerned officials.

Jyothi Putran asked for additional KSRTC buses in places where the number of school children is more. Officials said that four education officers are stationed in Byndoor.

Taluk panchayat president Shyamala S Kunder presided over the meeting. Vice president Ramkishan Hegde, social justice committee president Narayan K Gujjadi, in charge executive Dr Nagabhooshan Udupa, Byndoor taluk panchayat executive N Bharati were present.

The answer from tahsildar office about applications for land under soldier’s quota stated that ten applications are received. None of them are allotted sites due to deemed forest area and other reasons. Land is identified in Ulloor, Kanyana, Amparu and Yadadi Mathyadi villages for them.
