Udupi: Unique birthday celebration - Rice, umbrella distributed to flood victims

Udupi, Aug 27: In the present time, it is common to celebrate birthday by cutting the cake and having fun with friends and family. However, an entrepreneur in the city has celebrated the 10th birthday of his son in a unique manner, which is role model to all the others in society.

K Raghavendra Kini and his wife Ramyashree Raghavendra Kini, owners of Kini Consultancy in the city celebrated the 10th birthday of their son Ritvik Kini in this unique manner on August 13. All the poor daily wage labourers and women were given a bag of rice each and a umbrella at the Katyayani Mantap of the city. In addition, the couple also gave donation to the flood victims of north Karnataka on the occasion and made this birthday celebration remain in memory forever.

Raghavendra Kini opined, "I am aware that it is not apt to brag about the duty that we do for the society. But I feel if others get inspired by this deed of mine and donate something to the poor people of the society, my intention will be effective. That is why, I have shared my feelings on the social media. Though this a my personal family programme, I feel that this is pro-society."
